Looking at her grow

I feel I need to write something about the growth of little Daphne for the shutterfly book this will turn into someday.  Cameras always show physical development, but sometimes they miss those cruical 'ah-ha' moments that happen with mommy and daddy when she learns something new.  Daphne first crawled on March 18, 2009 at home.  The next Saturday, March 28, while we were putting our bed together, she pulled herself up on the chair in our room to standing.  She took a little while to learn to crawl before she finally did it.  She would different techniques of creeping, but her most successful was to get on all fours, leap with her hands to get ahead and land on her tummy, and then use her legs to bring her in back into the 'all fours' position.  Now that she has mastered crawling, she likes to follow mommy around the house, crawl to different toys, and her personal favorite is to crawl to the door stops and flip them for the fun noise.  Sometimes she will shut a door on us and then we can't get to her.  Now that she pulls herself to standing on everything, she has more to reach and explore.  She likes to try and mimic what we do like using the remote control or typing on the computer.  

We are taking the Love and Logic parenting classes (which are awesome!) and I can see how easy it will be for Ryan and I to remain in sync with our parenting.  She has already benefited from a few 'uh-ohs'  for her to learn from.  She loves crawling over to the puppies to pet them, unfortunately, Napoleon ends up walking away after she's only had a couple seconds to pet him, but Socrates will let her have at it.  They are great dogs.  

Daphne is also developing a better sense of the difference between baby food and the food on our plates.  She is still pretty good about eating baby food, but she will tell us she's full, and then we will eat and she will want some of whatever we're eating.  It's so cute and we love to share some of our food with her.  She absolutely loves her yo-baby yogurt, the gerber puffs, and oatmeal.  

Daphne still likes to play in her exersaucer (or as Ryan calls it--her hoverround) but only for a short time before she wants to get out and crawl around.  She still likes watching baby einstein the most, but likes to watch whatever we are watching too.  She has so many toys it's hard to see which ones she prefers the most, and also because she still just always puts them all in her mouth.  

She loves interacing with other babies and always gravitates towards them.  When she sees kids running around, she tries to join them as best she can but usually gets left behind.  She is so much fun to have around and we love being her parents.  Daphne is the coolest little girl and we love watching her grow and discover!
